Barry Callebaut – Website Relaunch
A new structure and design for the corporate website

Barry Callebaut is the world’s largest chocolate manufacturer, with 52 factories around the globe. Barry Callebaut relies on communication via digital channels. The company intended to update its corporate website in a major relaunch. The variety of information on the site posed a challenge: It was difficult to locate content from the various corporate publications.
The website was completely reconceived. We developed a new information architecture and reorganised the information according to segments. Improving the information structure also impacted the website design: The menu concept was reconfigured, and a faceted search with Apache Solr replaced the previous function. The content management system Drupal serves as the technical foundation for the relaunch.
The new site offers space for videos and images on a large stage, and includes a fly-out menu. Thanks to the content structure, it takes just a few clicks to access content at the deepest level. The website’s responsive design means that Barry Callebaut can also reach its target audiences on mobile devices.
