Medela is an international manufacturer of nursing products and medical vacuum devices. The company works with partners in 90 countries to distribute its products around the globe. The project involved setting up a new shop to allow B2B customers from several markets to order nursing products directly. Medela hired Namics to work on the concept development, design and implementation of the shop.
After its initial launch in Germany, the shop was rolled out successively in further markets. The process requirements of the various markets were taken into account in the development from the very beginning of the project.
The system is based on the hybris Commerce Accelerator which allows the shop to be integrated into additional sales channels in future. The multi-client compatibility of the solution makes it easier to manage market-specific processes and content.
Medela’s product line is now available to B2B customers online, which means that orders are no longer restricted to business hours. Customers can also access their order history in the shop.
Introducing this shop has allowed Medela to boost the efficiency of its sales process. The look of the shop is based on the company’s corporate design, and is seamlessly integrated into its communication. It provides a conceptual and technical foundation for Medela to further expand its e-commerce activities.
